Sometime within the last year, I found this recipe for homemade granola on my favorite blog, 100 days of Real Food. I have made it at least a dozen times. It's absolutely delicious and relatively simple to make. I always have all of these ingredients on hand so I can usually just throw a batch together without having to plan ahead.
I follow the recipe exactly with just a couple exceptions:
- I use just under a half cup each of walnuts, pecans and cashews. I think that part of the recipe calls for one cup of either nut but I like all of them so I just break it up and use all three. I add a little bit more butter and honey to make a tad bit more sauce.
- Instead of the ginger and nutmeg, I use Pumpkin Pie Spice. I love it! It contains each of those spices plus many more. I use this in addition to the 2 teaspoons of cinnamon. LOVE cinnamon!
While the granola bakes, my house smells AMAZING!
Absolutely love this stuff! It's especially delicious with yogurt, as regular cereal with milk and on vanilla ice cream!
